I am moving away from Christchurch City to the wilds of the Selwyn District.
Poor scooter will have to travel 4 times the distance, mostly flat out to get me to work.
Any bets on how long it will last?

Should be an interesting exercise.

Our 05 Stella lasted 3 years and 6,000 miles before we took it to Auckland where it resides now. We used it another 1 and a half years in the rain driving around the city before we sold it. I hear rumors of it still performing well.
The 05 was a tank.

Mine is running fine despite minimal maintenance on my part.
It is the long 100 kph sections that are a worry. And winter in Canterbury can be cold

well i have a 30 mile trip to work on all rural roads so just about all wot runs the stella seems to be holding up fine(other then the issues from when the asshole in the cage tried to run me over) she is parked as i dont like the thought of riding in the snow thats what cages with 4wd are for

Once it's up to temp scoot doesn't know whether it's done 3 km or 300 km.

Thank for the reassurance Zoomer.
I guess it will be fine, and may prompt a little more preventative maintenance... or maybe not.
My PX 200 ran forever with little in the way of tlc, but the Belladonna feels a little less robust. Probably all in the mind. I have covered 5000ks in the last 9 months with 1 oil change, 3 punctures and a gear cable adjustment.

i agree with zoomer. i would think your over all mileage on the bike would be more of a concern than the distance you have to travel, as far as wear and tear goes.
